Trellis Bookstore

Chicago's only Used Theater Bookstore

Located upstairs at the Greenhouse Theater Center, our bookstore's selection of scripts range from Albee to Zindel, dramatic theory, theatrical history, design, and more—all for $10 or less. To top it off, all of our books have been lovingly donated by folks who share our vision of growing theatre in Chicago. Whether you're a student looking for a textbook, an enthusiast of any age, or a prospective donor looking to give back, we hope to see you browsing the stacks!

Donate to the Greenhouse Bookstore

Moving? Looking to give back to the community? Personal library consuming your life and home? Hate tax season? Then consider donating your used books to the Greenhouse bookstore!
All of our stock is donated by folks who support our mission of growing theatre in Chicago and giving back to our community. In addition, any and all donations to the bookstore can be written off as a tax deduction. So be sure to leave us your name and email address with your contribution and we'll send you a receipt! You can drop off your books either down at the box office in the lobby or just upstairs at the donation shelf.

We take all kinds of book donations

Any literature we can't use we pass along to Open Books, a nonprofit social venture that provides literacy experiences for thousands of readers each year through inspiring programs and creative capitalization of books.

Through their Instructional Programs, Open Books cultivates the literacy skills of thousands of children and youth each year, from those who need intervention to those who desire enrichment. Their Book Programs provide readers of all ages with engaging, appropriate, and high-quality books, and each week, Open Books delivers thousands of books to schools and nonprofits across Chicagoland.
